Gabriel Gonzalez began his circus life in 2011 by wandering into the Gamma Phi Circus at Illinois State University. Within the Gamma Phi Circus he lead the juggling act and after having built his own Cyr wheel he was welcomed to join the wheel act as Gamma Phi’s first Cyr wheel performer. He also trained with a hand-me-down ladder and with the help of Ivan Stoinev he became Gamma Phi Circus’s first unsupported ladder performer during the 2014 show. Gabriel is very active within the wheel community, he recently just served as a judge for the 2014 US National Wheel Open Championship and plans to compete next year. In the coming year Gabriel is set to graduate from Illinois State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Sculpture with a minor in Art History. He enjoys video editing and traveling in his free time.
